Ms. Young represents individuals and families involved in insurance disputes and personal injury claims. Many of her cases involve homeowners who were underpaid by their insurance companies for damages sustained by Hurricane Katrina.
Prior to joining Harrell and Nowak, Ms. Young worked for a personal injury law firm representing individuals injured in accidents. In her prior six years of practice, Ms. Young assisted over 1,000 people collect damages because of injuries they sustained.
Before becoming a plaintiff's attorney, Ms. Young worked as an Assistant District Attorney for the New Orleans District Attorney's Office. In her role as Assistant District Attorney, Ms. Young represented the State of Louisiana in assuring the safety of children subjected to abuse and neglect. She was personally responsible for saving hundreds of children from abusive and neglectful environments. While at the District Attorney's office, Ms. Young successfully argued before the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeal.
Ms. Young is a native of New Orleans and graduated from the University of New Orleans, where she received the Outstanding Graduate Award in the College of Business . She received her J.D. from Loyola University School of Law where she was a member of the Poverty Law Journal. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and is admitted to practice before all state courts in Louisiana and the United States Western District. Ms. Young is also licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
