Did a Judge Get Cancer Due to Courthouse Asbestos Exposure?

Recently, NJ.com reported about a retired judge suing two mold remediation companies in New Jersey, because he believes he was exposed to asbestos while working in a Passaic County courthouse.

Since leaving the Passaic County courthouse after working there for 23 years, the 80-year-old judge has been diagnosed with adenocarcinoma, which is a type of cancer, one he claims was caused by his being exposed to asbestos while working in the courthouse.

The two remediation companies that the judge is suing were both tasked with performing asbestos removal work involving the courthouse back in the 1980s.
